Help went for a ride today and a friend noticed my brake light was on constantly. I ended up removing the light so i wouldn't burn up any wires. Can anyone help?
Have you had your front brake controls loose from the bike? If you do you should put a shim between the lever and the housing to keep from busting the brake light switch.Thats the first thing that comes to mind. Good luck
Had this problem twice on my 2005 Road King Custom. First time it was due to some road gunk or something causing the brake light switch to hang sometimes when the rear brake pedal was pushed - a good washing fixed the problem and it's been two years with no further issues. Second time was because thespring inside the front master cylinder got tired / worn out. Rebuilt the front master cylinder and the problem was solved. As noted above, if you have removed the front brake lever and forgot to put in a shim while doing so, the brake light switch in the front controls could be damaged.
