Default Looked at 08 SG's

Went to the local dealer today, he told me the main difference between the 07's and 08's is an extra motor mount on the front jug. Said it reduced the vibration.

Whats everyone who owns an 08s opinion? Also, could ya put that mount on the 07s? (Probably no mount on the frame for it,,,)

The mount is not a extra one or for the vibration but rather for the 6 gal tank it is just relocated and the mount bolts to the front head the 07 head is diffrent.

The other differences are the 08's have electronic throttle control and a 6 gal gas tank, the 08's also have a two piece rear sprocket that has rubber blocks inside of it that reduce the vibration transmitted to the rider from the drivetrain. The rear sprocket (IDS) makes for a smooth ride.

Guys on this site that ride 07 sg's will tell you that putting the IDS on thier bikes made a world of difference.

I dont know if you can add the front motor mount but you CAN put the IDS on a 07.

Oh yes, I know that dealer is pitiful. (Not going to mention the name, in St. Charles, MO.) LOL
But I hardly go in there to buy parts, let alone a bike! I have been looking on ebay, ect... for 07s and even 06s, (really like the 96ci motor though.) In any event, he did mention the larger tank, but didn't say anything about the drive system. Is this a rubber grommet type coupler? (Seems my jap dirt bikes had something like that IIRC)
So the 08s don't have any less vibration really? 6 gal of fuel would be nice for sure. Given the choice between an 07 n 08, is it not that big of deal?
