Cruise Control Web Page and a Question
Reading this web page concerning installing the cruise control:
http://www.capturedcinematicmemories...se_install.htm
"19. Locate the four-way data link connector under the right side cover. Gently pull on the connector to disengage it from the arms on the electrical bracket.
Remove the rubber protective plug from the connector.
20. Refer to the DIGITAL TECHNICIAN or the Touring Models Electrical Diagnostic Manual to verify the cruise control function on the vehicle ECM.
21. Re-install the rubber protective plug into the data link connector, and engage the connector into the arms of the electrical bracket. "
I don't get it?
Is there a special tool to do "something" not listed with that plug?
Anyone do this yet?

If it is, it sounds to me like the "missing link" is the reference in the quote "Refer to the Digital Technician ....to verify the cruise control function on the vehicle ECM". IOW, see if the ECM "sees" the cruise control installed. 'Course, I could be way off base on all that.

RE: Cruise Control Web Page and a Question
That's from my website, I post that. You have to remember that the manual is written for Harley Techs (if that's what you want to call them). The Digital Tech is a tool that we as wrenches can't purchase, so they lock us out and we have to bring it to them to activate it. It cost me a half hour labor to have this done and they also road tested it, $28.00. By the way, super easy job for anyone, took me 45 minutes for entire install, taking photo's and going to manual.
If anyone lives near me and wants some help doing the install let me know and we'll knock it out over a couple brews.
