Okay - laying a $20k plus motorcycle down on its side just to practice picking it up isA BIT overboard.

I've done that, pulled up next to a buddy, stopped and just forgot. When it got to the point of no return I just let it down easy. That is the perfect reason for leaving the engine guard on.

Don't worry about it, at least that's out of the way, and no harm done.

Almost did it--got off and went, oh $h^t, then got back on before the weight of it brought me over--won't do THAT again !

Hey Harleybodei, off the subject, but I have been coveting the wing graphic in your sig pic--want to blendthe wings withanother few graphics I like for a possible tat--has a wee bit of tribal, which is what I want. By chance, do you have a clean, better copy you'd consider sharing? If not, that's cool too. Thanks much, A.

Well it had to happen! I pulled up where a few people I know were standing around talking and needless to say I did not complete all the steps in my dismount. Everything is done "except the Jiffy stand is not down". I precede to get off the bike and along comes the bike with me [sm=noooo.gif]

That sucks, of course one of my buddies help me upright the bike. GOTTA BE MORE CAREFUL!
Embarassing, ain't it? Not that I would have any experience doing something like that.

My harley was my first bike, so i knew nothing about them when i went to the dealer to look. the saleman let me sit on a bike and i didn't know how thie jif stand worked. i got off, the stand wasn't in the slot. Lucky for me the saleman cought the handel bars. He then showed me how the jiffey stand worked and told me how to pick up a bike. That was Emmbarassing as hell but i learned and have never got off my bike without that being the first thing that popped in me head. After i signed the papers he didn't seem to be too worried about it. untill i walked out the door i figure.

Me too. Rode all day, pulled up and just about got off the bike with the stand still up. My friend saw me heading his way so he gave me a mighty shove. We saved it, but I won't repeat it I hope.
