RE: Zummo 550 or hd gps
The Zumo 550. Had it for two years and would change to anything else. I use it for xmradio, bluetooth, mp3 and weather and trafficalert. Oh yeah, every now and then I also use it for navigation.

RE: Zummo 550 or hd gps
Ok, here goes...I believe this info is correct.
The HD Quest and Conquest (Conquest has more memory) are the same units asGarmin's except the HD branding and HD dealership Point Of Intrest (POI's) are built in.
The HD Harmon Kardon factory radio GPS unit is not a Garmin.
After HD partnered with Garmin with the Quest and Conquest, Garmin realized there was a a market for motorcycles and developed the Zumo for motorcycles with all the bells and whistles (GPS, MP3, Audio Books, XM, Bluetooth, waterproof, glove freindly, large screen). "Made by bikers for bikers" This pretty much put ALL the previous GPS units in the dirt.
Rumor has it that HD was upset with Garmin due to the fact that Garmin did not bring the Z to the HD table. However, rumor also has it that HD is busy trying to partner with Garmin to rebrand the Zumo and bring it to the HD marketplace.
The Zumo 450 does not have bluetooth or a automobile mount and is about $100 less money.
Although, the Zumo 550 is a little more money it is well worth it!. The Z car mount alone is about $80.
BTW - I have loaded the complete HD dealership POI file (all 900+ location) in my Z and I have it notify me when I am within 5 miles (you can set the alert distance to your personal preference)
There is a site that hostsPOI files foreverything from red light cameras to just about every franchise that exists. (FREE). There is a POILoader on the Garmin site and it is also FREE.
Did I mention that the Z 550 kicks a$$? Do it once and do it right. Buy the Zumo 550.
Where to Purchase? PCNation http://pcnation.comhas a very good reputation and good prices.
Beware of other sites that advertise cheaper. They take your money and 2 weeks later they call "before shipping" and try to sell you accessories and an extended warranty. If you decline and tell them all you want is the Z then all of a sudden they are "out of stock and backordered" (and a pain in the a$$ to get your money back). Don't ask me how I know.
Hope this helps.
