Default My GPS mount

Here are a couple of pictures of how I mounted my Nuvi 200 GPS. And it should work for a wide range of GPS's.
I already had the Nuvi for my truck, so I ordered a mount and power cable off e-bay.
The ball mount already had a hole in it so I simply screwed a 3/16" stud into the bottom of the mount. I then drilled a hole in my windshield bag and used a flat washer and wing nut to secure the mount. When not is use, I remove the entire mount and insert a decorative screw in the hole.
I only use the GPS on the bike a couple of times a year so I didn't makea permanent power cable installation. One could easily run the power cable through the bag to the inside of the fairing if they so choose.
This is my first attempt to insert a picture. Hope they come through.

Default RE: My GPS mount

I gotthe idea from someone on this forum and I think it was you. I think you mounted just the ram mount directly to the fairing. I was gonna do that butafter an exaustive seach of the internet and many phone calls,I could not find just the3/4" ram mount for the nuvi 200. Ram-Mounts told me that no one makes one. I bought the mount with the intentions of cutting off the mount and just using the ball, butafter I got the mount, I decided on my method.
