It's being in the harley family. Go hang out at your local Yamaha shop on saturday then try your local Harley shop. Watch the difference when you get the thumbs up on your Harley when a car passes you!! There are alot of differences!! Welcome to the family and greatest bike in the world!!!

I have ridden both, and I think the handling difference is going to be your biggest surprise. The Harley is so much more nimble than the Yamaha, and I think you'll like it a lot.

I replaced a v-star 1100 for a Street Glide. I's soooo damn cold here I've not had much chance to ride it yet,
but I already feel like a family member

I also went from a Yamaha to a Street Glide. The Yamaha was a good bike and although I will admit the SG has given me some heart burn, let it be known, I wouldn't trade it for any other ride. First of all, the ride at highway speeds is way better than the RS. The SG looks better etc. I could go on and on but I feel what you will enjoy most is being part of the family. As time goes on you will see and feel what I am trying to explain.
Welcome and enjoy!

Street Glide ROCKS, Roadstar DON'T. You will understand more when you get it and ride it!

I have to agree. The Road King is amazingly nimble for a big bike. I had always been a dyna addict but this road king has really impressed me!

The big differences will be that ( unfortunately ) the Road star is faster.....but you wont get ignored at the red light any more....
