Default anyone else get stiffed by Dennis Kirk?

I purchased an item from Dennis Kirk, and when I received the item, theshipping boxwas perfect, butthe packaging for the individualitem was open, and all the contents were dumped out inside of the shipping box. The package was supposed to be stapledshut, but was clearly someones return, because the staples sealing the package were missing completely, and the smallplastic bag that contained all the screws and nuts was tornopen also, as if by hand. I counted the items, repackaged them nicely, andshipped the items right straight back less than 1/2 hour after receiving the item from Dennis Kirk. Dennis Kirk took 10% of the purchase price out because they said the item was scratched up when then received it. I tried to explain to them that they shipped me the items like that, and I shipped it right back because of it. They said because I accepted the package from UPS, and didn't call them, they couldn't make a claim against UPS for the item, and I was responsible for the 10% restocking fee. I tried to explain to them again that the outside box was pristine, and that UPS didn't damage it, it was them that just threw an unsealed package in a shipping box causing the damage, but they argued, and still kept the 10%, because I never called them to tell them what a bad job they do shipping the item. For those who use Dennis Kirk, beware of the items they send you.

Interesting to note that even reliable stores have problems!

Wow, that really bites Medicfrost. I've only ordered from DK a few times, but had good luck then.

I ordered a set of Powermadd handlebar risers from Dennis Kirk for my snowmobile this past winter and when they arrived it was obvious that they had been installed and used on another sled.

What do you expect? All you had to do was contact them. Do you have any idea how many people try to rip off companies? How are they supposed to know that you are telling them the truth when scumbags lie to them all the time? I'll bet there is a policy clearly stated that instructs you to call them before returning anything. Although they are usually overpriced, I've been very happy with Dennis Kirk. (And yes, I've used their "Return Authorization")

I've used Dennis Kirk several times and never had a problem, but there is always a first time.

If I were you, I would contact my credit card company. They will get you your 10% back. I have looked at DK but I have always found stuff way cheaper some where else.

I plan to buy V&H slip ons, true duals, fuelpac, mustang seat and ness big sucker from Dennis Kirk. I noticed the website has a price match guaratee and they will beat any price, except ebay, by a buck.
