I have the same issues and everything is fine on mine. Been a pain since everything (Motor, Tranny & Clutch) was new! I run Redline Synthetic in mine. It's still a bitch to find. But like others have said, it is easier to find, coming down from 2nd.

Come into neutral from second on your slow down for a light at slightly higher RPM's.... Your bike doesn't want to go into first on a downshift and will stop at the neutral position... something to do with the way the gears are sync'd...I've been doing it since I learned to ride with no problems....

Not sure if that's a clear explaination, but it's the only way I can explain it.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger- I've got the same thing on my 07 RKC. Had it on my 03 RKC also. I think it's just one of those things you have to get used to. I'll be trying some of the tricks mentioned here to see if it helps.

The only time I use the heel shifter is when I go into neutral from 1st gear.

Took me a while to discover it but it’s a natural for me now.

Try adjusting the clutch on the cable. Very simple and takes about 2 minutes.

You really should not be trying toshift your trans while not moving. Meaning shift down from 2nd coming to a stop. Clutch drag and just the design of the trans says bestnot to shift while not moving.

Blipping the throttle (just a little)while shifting always works for me.-Eric
Try this it works like a dream.
I switched to amzoil in the transmission and it helped with all shifting.

For me it was a feel thing. It'll come after a while. It just takes practice. The more you ride the better you get. Ride often!
Exactly! No matter what gear oil you use in the transmission, it's practice, practice, practice.

I had the same problem with my bike. I had my hot and cold idle adjusted to idle at 1000 rpm and I haven't had the problem since. FYI I wasn't trying to fix the neutral problem when I had the idle adjusted it was just a benefitwhile correcting another problem.
