RE: Just talked to radio sound,
What model and year are you working on?
With the switch housings off the handlebar, cut the zip tie in the lower housing;remove the phillips head screw that secures the turn signal switch bracket and remove itandthe turn signal switch--you may need to create some slack by pulling the conduit away from the wire bundle.
Pull off the "Mode" select switch cap; remove the two lower bracketphilips head screws and remove the bracket and switch.
You should order the switch you need so you can see how much wire comes with the switch; then cut-off the defective switch and replacewith the new one.
TheHD Service Manual has anexcellent section on what you are doing with good pictures--perhaps when you order the switch you can also buy the ServiceManual for your bike.
A magnetic tipped Phillips screwdriver will make reinstallation much easier.
Good luck with your repair.
