If your going to wear a half helmet, you can get the same one the police use with custome paint.

I just picked up a new HJC AC-12 full face helmet and love it. It is lightweight, has great ventilation and awesome peripheral vision. Cant ask more more than that.

Most of Harley's helmets are made by HJC

I have all three types. Half, 3/4, and full. The one I get the most use out of is the 3/4 with flip shield. Good for most conditions warm, cold, wet, or dry. Fit is more important than brand in my opinion, so go where you can try them on. The best helmet money can buy will do you no good if it is too uncomfortable to wear. I use the H-D Midway half helmet in hot weather, and the HJC full-face when it gets below 50 degrees. But the one I installed my Autocom intercom headset and microphone in is the H-D Ultra Jet 3/4. It's on my melon when my wife rides with me which is most of the time. If I could have only one helmet, this would be the one.

Good Eve All,

This is coming from a guy who's been a medic on the roads, ERs and in combat. WEAR YOUR HELMETS! Any protection is better than none! You can't enjoy your freedom lying on the road dead...plain and simple. I've taken plenty of guys who enjoyed there right to go without helmets to the ER DOA. I have three helmets also and like stated above...it really depends on the weather. I'll always carry My half shell with me...but if I know I'll be in rain or cold temps, My full face is always with me. The 3/4 is just a judgement call in the cooler but no so cold temps. GO into stores...attend a large bike rally...even bike weeks...try on helmets...find one ya like. Remember...most helmets might be slightly snug when first worn...this is normal and it will contour to your noggin in no time. See ya all Myrtle this weekend!
Mike
