Ok guys, it's my first post and I have a 2008 RK standard waiting for me Saturday, black, python slipons, cruise and reach seat. But, I keeping flipin over windshield or fairing. How about confusing me some more???

or even get a dragonfly fairing.

But why would anyone NOT want to be the King!

I had the same question... I cured it by Keeping my '01 RKC and buying a new '07 RG

If you get the RK (RKC!!) then an aftermarket fairing, then you get the same bike (minus the gauges on the EGC fairing) with the added benefit of being able to strip the bike down for cruising - real wind in you face riding. You'll get this for about the same price as an EGC. The RKC will provide you with cruise control.

I have to agree. Sure, the trunk space would be nice, but being able to strip the bike down, or dress it up, makes the king the most versatile of the touring line... Get the king, and later on, you can get a fairing and tourpack. Get the EG, and you can put the detach kit on for the tourpack, but the batwing stays... options are nice...

I didn't think I would care about the radio/CD on my EG, but I love it! And getting stuff in and out of the tourpak is much easier than the hard bags.
