screeching sound???
On the way to Ft. Collins from Denver this morning, 60 miles into the ride, I heard an intermitantloudscreeching or squeaking sound coming from the bike. I was running about 75 mph.
I pulled over immediately to see if I could find something wrong, but there was nothing obvious...
I had about 20 more miles to go so I continued, and had 1 more short chirp, then no more.
When I got to where I was going I looked the bike over closer and still nothing obvious.
No marks or rubs on the tire, the belt seemed ok too.
The ride home was uneventfull as well.
I'm thinking it could have been a small rock in the brake caliper, or the belt rubbing on the edge of the cover? I had the rear tire replaced about 250 miles ago, and made the exact same trip on Friday. It was about 185 miles round trip.
Any thoughts from you fine folks???

RE: screeching sound???
Well...........it's fersure coming from something that goes roundy-round.......hmmmmm
Jack her up and check wheel bearings first....especially the rear..........place long screwdriver against axle nut and other end of screwdriver against ear.....then spin wheel and listen for ANY noise
Do same with front axle, then also 'sound out' brakes by placing screwdriver against calipers in same fashion.....examine rotors to see it one is scored.
