Do you get the turn bobble...there is a cure

RE: Do you get the turn bobble...there is a cure
Tell your friends to take a basic rider course from MSF or Rider's Edge through Harley. Better yet, take them.
Looking through a turn, keeping your eyes up (Look Up, Stay Up, Look Down, Go Down), and scanning far down the road, keeping your eyes level with the horizon, are all BASIC skills needed to ride a motorcycle safely.

You can do an experiment in your own kitchen. Fill a cup of coffee full to the top, and place it on a saucer. Holding the saucer, stare at the cup, and try and walk across the room without spilling the coffee.
Now, after you've cleaned up the mess, try it again, only this time, look across the room while you carry the cup and saucer. Your eyes interact with your inner ear, which provides balance to your whole body. By keeping your eyes level with the horizon, your whole body will be in balance naturally.

I was taught to look as far around the turn as possible and never down or at the center line. It's hard for some to look out ahead on a curve but your bike will follow and do it very smoothly. The Ride like a Pro video was a tremendous help in building confidence especially in low speed maneuvers. I think it helps when you can watch others do it right and then practice.
Ride well,
Jim

Ultra61, as others have mentioned, the Ride Like a Pro video emphasis is on low speed manuevers, which are very important. But if you are planning on taking a road trip with friends who are looking down while riding, they need some serious instruction before that trip! Get them into an MSF course ASAP !

MNPGRider, Thanks for the thoughts and info and I truly appreciate your concern...I am not trying to belittle my friends riding abilities. I have been riding w/ a couple of them I mention for 2 years now...I just notice when following them If they would just look out a little further I believe there bobble in turns would smooth out some...I just believe they are not looking far enough ahead...and one more note there is peopleI just will not ride with...and I have told them this, riding is a pleasure and definitely not for those riding above there skill level, I spent my time on closed courses and it would be nothing for me to bring it to the street w/ a little coaxing...[8D]
