Default Rear Sproket

I would like to drop the RPM,s about 200 or so on the road. On our 06 Ultra there is a 70 T. sprocket on the rear wheel . Is there a 68 T. replacement available for it? It looks like that there is enough belt adjustment to accommodate that move. Anyone done that before?? On the average day, I have taken off in 2nd gear more than once, not paying attention, looking at the scenery Thanks, Dan

Interesting, 68T rear would lower your RPMs for your given road speed. Most people change the transmission sprocket up or down 2 teeth or the engine primary sprocket one tooth.

Rear pulleys are expensive, and come in limited sizes. If you change your tranny sprocket you will have to get a speedometer re-calibrater and on some bikes if you go down two teeth you may have to change the drive belt. If you go bigger on the engine sprocket you may or may not need a new primary chain, but you won't need a re-calibrater for the speedometer and your engine will turn over easier because of the gear ratio change.
Hope this helps.
