Good God man!!! You're still gonna get rear-ended cause the poor sob behind you is gonna be pemanently blinded when you hit the brakes!

That thing is going to be lit up like the Griswold house at Christmas!!!

Waste of time from a road safety angle, I'm afraid.. Doesn't matter how bright they are if they're taken by surprise..

Try adjusting your riding to allow for their braking distance too, even if it means a bigger gap. At a standstill, use your right foot on the floor, keep the hand on the bars & foot near the gearlever - if you hear that screeching, get into gear & go for a gap..

RAM,

Question regarding your wiring. I'm going to install a Hoglite and want to spice in the brake wiring from my tour-pak. Pulled the tour-pak liner but I don't see the extra ciruit or terminal others have discussed in simular posts.Maybe it located under the metal base that I've yet to remove? Please advise.

Thanks / Frank

Frank, you won't see extra wiring. Only three terminals going to TourPac wiring (ground, hot all the time for run, and the brake ckt only on when braking) and most likely if you can not see them its because they are under the steel plate. You should see them in the left front corner since that is where the lighting power comes though, the plate will not cover the hole. You will have about 2 or so inches to work with if you chose not to take the T/P off to remove the plate.

Good advice, but I dissagree that it is a "Waist of time"... I have no doubt it may help SOMEONE see him, where they might not have before. But you are right, there is no substitute for "Defensive driving" for sure...
