Default RE: Suggestions for LOUD pipes!!

Anyone with any opinions on the D&D slipons for the Road Kings. I know a guy that just put some on his RK and I was hoping for a louder pipe than that. I am glad that he went first and I got to hear them. How do the Samsons, Wild Pigs and the Rineharts sound compared to the D&D? Thanks again for all the help guys. I am really glad I found this site.

I have a friend with Samsons on a 1996 EG Standard, and they are loud. They don't sound bad like some loud pipes do, but they are loud, and I don't like to ride behind him for any length of time.

Regards,

Bill

Someone told me that the Samson pipes have a flaw that causes the right pipe to brown as it is used. I have seen his bike and the right pipe is brown. He said that all the Samsons do this. Anyone else heard about this?

If you want obnoxius, discolouring is always going to be a problem.

Go back to the theory of 10 times cylinder bore enclosed resistance for an efficient cooling and sound restriction based on negative exhaust.

Forget that, Sampsons will **** off your neighbours, and you'll have some discolouration. What's better, waking up the neighbours, or having a spotless bike? Make up your mind.

I am looking for some slip ons that are noisy enough that my neighbors will hate me

Suggestions please?
And we wonder why we have people hating us as a motorcycle community and trying to ban us from public areas...

Steve, my neighbours don't hate me, and my buddies and me make all kinds of noise. We haven't had one break-in in the area since we started making noise, and all the neighbours come over for beers since I came over to the right side. (HD) The Goldwing and Shadow just didn't do it.

The neighbors hating me comment was tongue in cheek.

Panacea, I know that, but some people here take everything seriously. I'm always in ****, and usually when I'm joking. Don't worry, they haven't kicked me off yet, so you're good.

I noticed that the Vance and Hines home page had sound clips of their various pipes. Does anyone know if there are sound clips of other bikes on the web? TIA
