Is there a VIN Decoder outside of the manual that will help me figure out the production date of my RK? I bought it two weeks ago, so I think I'm good, but I'd like to make sure.

a john i got the same exact bike vivid black. sweet ride aint it. turn youre bike handle bars so they point right. on the main frame in between the headlight and the handle bars there will be a sticker with the date yours was made. let me know the date. yeah love my bike but want to get vivid black hard bags for it. good luck ----jake

 

Love it. We have a fairly large bike night near my house. I went last week and saw only ONE other RK Custom--very cool.

If you do get those vivid black hardbags and decide to sell the leathers, let me know. I'm thinking a spare set of those would be a good idea. The manual has a page on decoding the VIN, I'll check that when I get home. I could have swore I saw a page on the hd website with VIN decode info.

john ---where you located? you should put your hometown on your profile. the date will be clearly printed on the frame where i stated. no decoding needed. check it out

 

This remap for the 25's going make me change my pc download (stage 1?)?

 

Is this only an 06 problem? I just bought an 05 Road Glide with the injected motor, havn't been in any cold weather yet? seems to run fine sometimes it might pop when cranking but always fires up and runs.

the 06 is the year harley produced bikes with the bad injectors, from what ive seen your 05 should be AOK. the popping is a tuning issue or exhaust leak. the way you explained yours it sounds fine.

 

from what dynojet explained to me you will not have to change your map , but just tweek it a little with the buttons on the faceplate. it explains this somewhere in these posts. or you can go to dynojet websight (or call--theyre very helpful) and get the info on the change. very easy the way they explained it to me.
