Nope there is only a store at the NC end of deals gap.

about 20 minutes on the tn side there is a store.

If you follow 129 to knoxville you do end up at hooters though.

That's right, best thing to do is stop at the dam, catch your breath and ride back to the motel and eat a bite and do it all over again. Late fall in the middle of the week there is a lot less traffic too.

Tried to ride the Dragon last year, but got rained out half way thru.
My question is, is there some kind of store, gas station or stop at the end on the Tenn side? I started at Deals Gap but didnt make the whole 11 miles.
Buddie and me are going up there next week.
Thanks
Jim
So what did you do turn around? Sounds hazardous. Store and restaurant combo on NC state line.

If ya'll get up on the BRP near the NC/VA line (milepost 248) and need a place to stay, check out the Station's Inn. Stumbled upon it late one evening last Oct. Caters to bikers with undercover parking, good food. Quiet and away from any town. Here's the link to their site:

p.s. I have no financial interest in this business

Hey nice color choice LOL; I'll by riding over after Rollin Thunder. I'm staying at Tapoco Lodge so I'll be riding through the tail to get there. I'll be riding the tail and anywhere else that sounds fun May 28th & 29th.

Let's hear about your ride and get some pictures

Bob

There is a store just past the lake on the Tenn Side. You can also turn right on the Foothills Parkway and follow it to Townsend TN. From there you are only 15 to 20 minutes from Gatlinburg or Pidgeon Forge. It is ia good ride.

We will be riding to and staying in Townsend over the Memorial Day weekend. The Blue Knights are having a conference called "Pigs in the Smokies" with several rides planned around the area. I can't wait as thelast time I was there wason a '83 GL1100 in1999. We dragged something on the bike 48 times riding the Dragon. I know because my son (who was 15) was counting. This time he is on his own bike -- a Suzuki 1400 Intruder and will be hurtingbig time riding that from St. Louis. Oh well, he is still young...
