Default Nevermind - HK Radio Repair?

I had asked about but now just got word thatUnited Radio Service does not repair the HK radio units after all.

Mine took a dump a few weeks ago (diagnostic code: B2017) and in my search for an aftermark head unit I came across this company that I was told repairs out of warranty HK units. Not the case after all.

Looks like I'm going the aftermarket route.

I take it you've done the listed things on here to reset the radio?

pull the maxifuse for 15-20 min then reinsert it so the radio resets?
reinstall the software?

did you ever find out what the error code meant?

I've tried everything short of lifting the bike over my head and shaking the darn thing!

Did the maxi-fuse, other radio fuses, disconnected battery, reset the radio, reloaded latest upgrade. Everything.

Nothing.

Diagnostic Code B2017 says "FL Speaker". Other members here with that code had their units replaced under warranty but as stated previously, mine is several months out.

Co-Worker that does audio installs for Circuit City on the side thinks it's the speaker outputs.

Sincerely though, thanks for asking the questions. The next guy will find them handy.

If you're on good terms with your local stealer.. might just want to try going back with it.. there's been so many problems with Harmon Kardon, there's been a couple posts on here where Harley's replaced the radios out of warranty, no charge

Been there, tried thatas well.

Just found out United Radio won't even touch them.

Looks like aftermarket for me.

Good excuse for MAJOR audio upgrade.

Thanks HawgriderPA. If our paths ever cross, I'm buyin' !

Looking at both biketronics and hawg-wired.

Just need to decide on a head unit.

I like the looks of the JVC El Kameleon KD-AVX44 and believe it would be a good choice as an aftermarket head unit
