For getting stubbornstuff off my pipes I like to use Mr.Clean's Magic Eraser sponges. You will use a sponge up and use some elbow grease but it works prettywell.

Extra fine steel wool will remove anything on your chrome (metal not plastic) effortlessly!! Give it a try, you'll be amazed at how good it works.

Honda spray cleaner and polish. Spray it on cold pipes, let it sit for about one minute and the bugs will wipe right off. It also works on painted and plastic surfaces. Really good stuff. I have been using it for years. It cost about six bucks for a can. A can usually lasts me a whole summer.
That stuff was great, however, it's no longer sold with Honda's name on it. The can looks the same, works great. Kawasaki's product is also the same stuff.
