I get up around that speed about once a week or so, I have the need for speed. When I had the Street Glide I would hit 90-100 everytime got on the highway, man that fairing made it easy to get up to that speed and not even realize it. But then again I am only 24 so I have the "young and dumb" syndrome sometimes.

I THINK my bike did indicated 115 on the way back from Chicago 1 latenight running with some of my friends on their sportbikes.

 

Man you guys made me feel much better after reading this thread. I went for a ride tonight and was feeling guilty for hitting 80 and thought I was being too hard on her. Just curious, what are the rpm's in the 75-80 zone, it sure seemed happy there, Rob.

 

70's in posted 35 curves several times this afternoon, really got to know my SG today, was considering adding the track, but none needed here, it took the curves with leans, something I have longed for[sm=Awwww.gif] after riding a Softail for the last year[sm=groupwave.gif]

 

After I got my SERT and Rineharts Pipe I can get the speed up to 115 MPH in no time.

 

He can ride my sister,but he darn sure ain't ridin' my Harley!

 

When I brought mine back from the dealer two weeks ago, I got er up to 120mph on I-70 (no cars were around and it was a long straightaway). Still had some power but it was very cold and I had to slow down.

That is one good thing about living in West Texas...lots of space to air it out. I have had mine over 130 once, my Dad swears he got it up to 150. This was all checked with GPS, numbers should be pretty close.

 

With a SERT, breather, and Samson Rolled Thunder pipes on my Ultra, loaded with bags fully packed and an additional trunk bag on the rack, and wife behind me, we pegged at 110 for sustained period of time across Colorado this past fall -- and had some throttle to go. Amazing how the bike handled, but the thought of blowing a front tire or some varment running onto the road made me finally succomb to the constant tapping on my back from my speechless wife.... But it was fun while it lasted!

 

I was clocked at a little over 130 on the Street Glide. At least that is what the CHP told me on the side of the highway.
