What is involved in putting a set of Heratige bars on a Road King?

Do all the stock lines and cables work fine?

Do you have to "massage" the brake line to work OK?

Just checking before I do a swap for a friend of mine.

Do a search using your thread (there are hundreds). I believe they fit with no cable or other.

 

On mine I just had to straighten the brake line out a little bit, It's a peice of cake and will make a huge difference for you. The cables all fit just fine.

 

any pics? I am looking at a different set of bars myself as the Classic bars stretch me just that little bit too far on long rids.

 

I installed the Heratige on my 07 RKC and did nothing to the cables, I did have to manipulate the brake cable a tad. No big deal.

 

There's been several posts about that on the forum... as I understand it, all the stock cables fit just fine, with a little rubbing....

 

I personally didn't like the hand position of the bars. My "girlfriend" let me ride her Heritage and I felt uneasy with it. The grips are more straight out and it felt strange. I definitely wouldn't be able to manuever my King with those bars like I can my stock ones. Did you check into the bars HD made for the '07 RK Custom? I think they have more pullback.

 

Well that sounds good..............all stock cables and wires work fine, massage the brake line a bit.

He already has the bars, just have to install them someday for him.

I wasgoing to put heritage bars on my 08 RKC but was told they wouldn't work on 08 due to the TBW. I have a friend who put them on his 06 and says they are great.
