I was wanting to replace my stock air filter to something like a k&n, which is not out according to my parts guy. Can anyone recommend something from another manufacturer or should I just wait?

 

Go with a Ness Big Sucker for about 100 bucks. It is every bit as good as the K & N, is a piece of cake to install and allows you to use your stock football cover, if you so desire.

K & N has a filter out for the stock 08 part # is HD1508

I don't think Ness makes one to fit the 08 touring bikes yet. Don't see a pn on their website yet anyway. The throttle body throat on the 08s are larger than the 07 and prior. I bought the HD Screamin' eagle cleaner for my 08 RK. It is nearly a duplicate of the 06 ness models. Breathers run through the backplate like the ness. No rubber hoses on the 08 SE aircleaners. Now the do give you a synthetic paper filter but I bought the K&N HD-0800 filter for $45.00 so it costs about $160 by the time you get the SE kit and the SE filter, but that's what I know fits and the new harley backplate for the 08 tourbikes does look a little sturdier than the Ness (not that I ever had a problem with the Ness either).

 

I went with the Screamin Eagle filter kit for the '08s. '29260-08 SE Air Filter Kit'
K&N will eventually make a filter replacement for it.

K&N RK-3909. I was quoted $109.99 for it from my local AutoZone.

Yeah, I see those part numbers on the Dennis Kirk website now but I still don't see'em on the FUBAR Arlen Ness shop online site. I looked every where I could back in October last fall, couldn't find crap on Ness so the SE worked fine. About the same price if I didn't have to buy a K&N to stick in it. And the design is nearly a duplicate now.

 

Any one know if there is anything for a FLHRSE4 air cleaner wise???
