The advantage of this new TBW system is.... What? It still seems to me that a cable & idle set screw worked pretty good in the past. I've asked this question before & gotten some pretty esoteric replys. Any new opinions out there? Has anyone heard any new run-away throttle reports lately?

Thanks,

John

Picked up my '08 about a month ago, 1400 miles later, no problems like this. Of course, when I picked it up, I was coming off an old shovel, so I hopped on it, rode the hell out of it and about two weeks later, I decided to open the owner's manual. Shut off the bike with the kill switch? My old habit is the ignition switch and unless somebody can tell me why that's bad, I'll just keep on doing it. Point I'm making, I ride this the same way I've always ridden, no problems. Now, there might be a problem, I don't know, but it sure hasn't been on my bike. (Banging on everything in my reach that is made of wood)

Great that we can talk about all this without patronising each other, isn't it...?

1 - Deceleration is affected by the motor hanging on to 2000rpm,

2 - Pulling in the clutch allows the engine to continue revving at these revs WITHOUT TOUCHING THE THROTTLE

3 - Stand back from the bike and watch the bike rev itself up between 1000 & 2500rpm

That's my new £15,000 bike.

Started at 145 miles, now at 800 & booked into dealers on Friday.

Will keep you posted.

All this re-booting / re-cycling is BS. Doesn't work. ECU needs a re-map & will be done under warranty, or I'm getting a Beemer..

I always use the kill switch to shut down my 08 Ultra before I turn the switch off. But the key is dont touch the throttle between the switching.
