I've had similar experiences with my '08 SG. I think the stabilizers that everyone has been talking about lately, like RideStr8 for example, are supposed to be curing these issues.

Am I correct in my assessment?

It's all about rake & trail. SG's have shorter shockers than Ultra's etc, meaning the rake & trail will differ. That's why putting larger diameter front wheels in affects the stability. Add in factors like cross winds, tyre pressures, windshields etc etc & it's a minefield out there!!

If bags are loaded with more weight in one side it will affect it also, along with a whole lot of other stuff that could be wrong.

How was your load distributed? Should be in a triangular area of axle - axle - top of helmet. Loaded bags at the rear, high up are bad news..

I'm sorry, but I don't think our bikes were really built to do 90+
