I'll bite. What are your "valid reasons" for doing 90+ mph?

That's why Roll on the throttle and get the hell out of dodge. Was on my CBR for that, he felt that I made the left turn behind him too fast (10mph), so he stopped in the middle of the road, got out, and started to take a swing at me. I swerved around, and he set off in pursuit. I hit the throttle and left him way behind, got off at the next exit, and got to watch him fly by looking for me. Putt off into the night and on home.

Read your manual. HD states not to exceed 85 MPH. There is a reason for that and everyone should know it by now.Yes the bike is capable of sustained speeds over 85 or 90,but not safely. The batwing fairing, tire pressures ,tour-pak,lower fairings etc combine for example to make the ultra prone to high speed wobble based on wind shear over85. Your cruise control is inoperable over 85. Theres a reason for that too.

[sm=biker2.gif] hogbag07 has it right.Especially when it comes to the steering head bearings. I had my RG went into a violent wobble that I think that the hand of God was the only thing that kept me from being splattered all over the center wall on I-85 in Atlanta. After that I checked the bike over good & found that the steering head bearings needed adjusting. After they were adjusted it handled like a different bike. Although a few months down the road I found the left side of the rear swingarm had broken on the left side. Thisbike is a 2000 RG and was the 2nd. pre 02 bagger that I saw this happen on.
