Expected Life of a Typical Dunlop Rear Tire/Michelin
On my first rear stock Dunlop, I got just over 12K on it. Is this typical? I am about to turn over 13K on this second tire. I measured the tread, and there still seems to have some additional miles on it. What should I look for let me know that my tire needs to be replaced? Also, i have made it a policy to change the rear brakes the same time I change the rear tire. I plan to use the Lyndall Zpads (for those wanting the stock #, it is 7195)....I have them on my front and simply love these pads. Finally, will I get more miles from the Michelin tire? Thanks!

10-12k miles on the rear and change the front with the second rear tire. This has been pretty consistenton my 2 previouselectra glidesand myFLTRfor the last 18 years. Dunlop OEM tires for replacements.
On my FLHS the rear brakes lasted over 30k. On my FLHTCI I went thru 3 sets in 25k. (they were having problems that year) on my FLTR I have gotten 28k out of the first set.

Just replaced the original Dunlop rear tire at 15000 with 3/32" tread left. I run 40 lbs. and probably 80% solo. I use front and rear brakes together always, and I do downshift while slowing. My 02 would do about 12000, but the 07 has a wider tire on it. I be happy camper.
