What I am looking for is a cross of both performance and protection. It sort of sounds like with that everyone has said here that the best bet is to stay with the HD SE air cleaner??

Just like with other parts there are lots of choices, just look at the bigger picture and decide what you want to accomplish first. Are you after a certain look or performance. I used the Overflow filter under my stock football cover. I was seeking performance. There are also alot of cool looking covers that have a good filter. So figure out what you are trying to achieve first then decide what you want to spend.

I had a SE High Flow on my FLHTCI then a friend said I should try the Zippers new air filter,
gained almost 5 HP and torque. Wouldn't beleive it if I didn't see it for myself.
Sounds good. Where in the rpm range did you gain the 5 hp? Any increase in torque as well?

Get the K&N, it's great, they make a replacement for the SE high flow kit now.
