Default Uncomfortable on FLHX

I cant seem to get comfortable on my FLHX. Im almost 6'5" tall (long legs) and have done the following to improve comfort. My biggest problem is having my knees so high (evenw/my hips). I really need to get my legs down and out some on the floorboards to get comfortable.

* Mustang seat (raised me upand back about an 1")
* Moved floorboards out
* EZ brake and shifter extensions.

The seat is a huge improvement from stock but the moving me back an 1" makes the bars a bit of a reach. Im thinking about doing some Wild1 575's which will bring them back and up a little. I get that catch between my shoulder blades from "reaching" a little bit on longer rides. I dont have any problems reaching the ground, havingthe bikeup an 1" and the boards down an inch would be perfect!

Im afraid this is just one of those things I will have to deal with. Theres lots of solutions for lowering bikes for short people but not so much for us tall guys!

thnx

street glide has 1 inch shorter rear shocks that the classic,RG or ultra and standard. Just change them to stock from one of the other models and get another inch up. You can find new takeoff sets on ebay for cheap, or trade yours with someone who wants to drop theirs a inch.

Thanks, that will solve some of it but I still need to get the floorboards down some. Any idea what the part # is on the taller rear shocks?

Try Kuryakin Longhorn ISO Duallys. You'll be able to stretch your legs out.

Gforceman,
I am 6'6" and was miserable like you are. I bit the bullet and installed some accutronix forward controls and it made a world of difference. I bike is more comfortable and my ability to control the bike improved 300%. PM me for before and after pics.

I am 6'4" and I have installed the HD pull back bars with kurakyn tour-tech highway pegs and iso pegs. I also bent the adjustable riders backrest back an additional 2 inches from stock. This has really helped me and I didn't much think about it till I rode my friends new ultra and I felt like I was sitting on the tank. Hope this helps.

Huh?? Original post was-

I dont have any problems reaching the ground, havingthe bikeup an 1" and the boards down an inch would be perfect!

Longer shocks are not going to give you more room in between the seat and footboards. Everything comes up, not just the seat.
