If you like your Deluxe, why not retro fit it with RK hard bags? I know there is an adaptor kit sold I've seen a Heritage with hard bags and the Deluxe has the same fender basically.

Not real cheap, but cheaper than buying a new RK.

 

the problem with that is the early police model abs took up most of the right side saddlebag. kinda defeats the purpose of having bags....

i'm kinda in the same boat. i love my road king custom, but want the fairing (street glide), after doing the numbers, i would be much better off just sucking it up and getting an aftermarket fairing. unfortunately, i am going to have to wait until i can set aside the $ before i can get it, whereas, you can always buy a new bike and finance it.... sure you have to pay until your methuselah, but hey, you can't take it with you, right?
