RE: Best cell phone carrier for traveling????
This would have been a great poll so we could see the results displayed.
Used Verizon from Detroit to Florida and back, by way of the mountains. My biggest suprize was the .45 roaming. 45 cents? I would have payed twice as much if I could have found a phone.
Also, different phones will get different results. Don't just research the vendor, research what phone your local dealer is offering.Slim line models with 25 lbs of sh*t in them might take great pictures but not get the best reception. Love my simple LG.

I won't bother reading the entire thread for I'm sure everyone is different but I have had AT&T since the late 80's. Back then the were Cellular One, then Cingular, then AT&T. Never had a problem and also have a Nextel from work which just sux. Friends of mine have Sprint and Verizon and most times I end up losing them on their ends. My brother also had US Cellular and came back to AT&T...... Just my .02!!!!

RE: Best cell phone carrier for traveling????
Another Verizon guy here. I have traveled a lot for work and have found that not only does Verizon have very good coverage, they tend to work in places that other phones do not, ie: steel office buildings, sub basements, elevators, etc. That may be more a function of the Motorola V325 phone, but it is what is working for my family. The free service to others on Verizon is a budget saver when you have four grown kids!
So far the only place I was not able to get service was Costa Rica, that really sucked as using the phones at the hotel cost me 100s for just a coupleof shortcalls home!

RE: Best cell phone carrier for traveling????
the only phone that always worked for me I no longer have, it was an Iridium, it was a sattelite phone... very expensive to use... I currently carry a Sprint, Verizon and an AT&T, Verizon is by far the best (though I hate the phone a treo PDA) the Sprint with a Nextel radio is second and anyone else who has an AT&T phone I feel sorry for I hate them, that phone almost never works....
Get the Verizon.........
Get the Verizon.........
