Default RE: SE 6 speed

what are your RPM's @ 80m/h in 6th gear?
What are the RPM,s @80 m/h in 5th gear on a 5 speed tranny?I would know but I dont have a tac on my road king
From the H-D web site-

The first five gears mimic today's proven five speed ratios. Sixth gear is a true overdrive at a .89:1 ratio, which allows the engine to run at a lower RPM in sixth gear, equating to less vibration and a longer engine life.

With 5th gear being 3.15 that means the 6th gear ratio would be 2.80, correct? Somewhere on line I have seen posted an rpm-to-mph chart for the baggers. Anybody familiar with the link? That may answer this question for those of us without a tach.

Default RE: SE 6 speed

I have the SE-6 in my latest scoot, my new '06 RoadGlide. I had them do the stageII 95" kit, the SE racetuner and I installed a pair of Kromewerks HP plus touring mufflers. I have found the "lugging" issue with this motor to be a bit overrated to be honest. No real need to be in 6th gear anyhow below say 65-70, and I wouldnt flog the motor at that speed in 6th gear anyhow. On major secondary roads (speed limit @ 45-50) I'll cruise at 55-60 and kick her up into 6th gear and just maintain the speed. Again, any need to pass something I bang down to the appropriate gear to kick some ***.
For the purpose of "stats", if my memory serves correct from the other day I was holding steady at 85 MPH in 6th and was roughly 2950rpm. Im happy, those long 800-900 mi. days on xcountry trips all packed down and jammin' at 85 all day (and the motor SCREAMING) are a thing of the past!
