Headlamp visor trim ring install question?
How many of you guys have installed one of these and did you actually get the accessory trim ring to fit tight all the way around the original trim ring? My parts guy said (as did the instructions)that the accessory trim ring fits right over the existing trim ring but I can't for the life of me get the accessory trim to snug up the gap at the bottom of the trim ring. I've got about a 1/4 inch gap or so, does that sound right? Oh yes, it's going on an '08 FLHR.

I was able to get mine close to being snug, took some work though.

RE: Headlamp visor trim ring install question?
Seems like there is plenty of chatter out there about this subject. Some seem to have gotten the gap to close by loosening the stock trim ring holding screw then slipping the new trim ring over and snugging it up then snug up the other screw a bit.....and finally they got the gap to close. I tried everything and must have had the visor trim ring on and off a dozen times. Funny thing is, if you take them both off and the new visor ring does not completely fit around the stock ring so I'm not sure howit can be done. Maybe it is possible that not all of these visor rings are the same diameter but thatseems unlikely. I ended up with a bit less than a 1/8" and can live with it. So you guys are not alone with this problem.

Yup I've got a 1/8" gap also and I'm not crazy about the cheesy phillips head screw seeing you have to get it so tight to close the gap. I had visions of a screw driver going thru my hand.
