Hey guys. I installed a set of HD filler strips on my 07 Road King tonight and I have a question. After installing the strips, I attempted to put the saddlebags back on the bike and I had to push very hard to get the rear tab to connect back to the bike. Is this normal after installing the filler strip?

I don't have the answer to your question, but more info about what you bought, chrome or colored, how much? Thinking about getting some myself but don't want to pay a fortune.

 

I think this issue with filler strips on a RKC has come up before. Have you tried a search?

 

I have the factory painted fillers on my '05 RK standard. Love the look with the fillers on, cleans up the whole rear end.

I did not have that problem. The filler strips should not be touching the saddlebags. You can easily adjust the rear tab with one bolt to better align with your saddlebag. Here is a pic of my install.
