I had SE's on my 03 that were awesome. On my 07, not so much. Way too quiet for me.

I have the SE 80491-07's on my 08 EG. Nice tone at speed without being obnoxious but bark rather nicely when you twist it. They are louder than stock and have removable baffles which makes baffle mods easy if needed. I have also added the XIEDs from Mullen LLC. They also add some deeper tone cause of the richer AFR.

I have SE slip-ons 64985-07A, with turndown end caps.

I love them! Great bark when you twist the throttle, lower rumble than stock.

Quiet enough to hear the radio and not **** off neighbors.

They are approved for 50 state noise emissions levels so you can't be ticketed for noise, it's stamped on the mufflers.

It's your cash, get what you want. I've had them all and these SE muffs are great. Ordered them online from Zanotti's and got 20% off.

How about just taking the stock baffles out of the stock exhaust & putting in a Big City Thunder bafflle?

The 80491-07 are performance slip ons, quite similar in some respects to the old SE II's

Screamin' Eagle® Street Performance Slip-On Mufflers - One Piece - Slash Down

New Street Performance Touring mufflers combine aggressive sound quality with aggressive performance results. High flow internal design produces performance you can feel, comparable to Screamin' Eagle® II race-use mufflers. Street legal, these chrome-plated mufflers feature a new ballistic-shape inlet and a deep embossed Screamin' Eagle® signature script. Street legal on stock displacement engines. Patent pending.
I find them to be perfect. Any louder and I would not be happy. I had the SE II's on my Wide Glide and they were too loud for my tastes. I will say that the similarity in the quality of the sound of the SE II's is striking, just not as loud.

I bought a used set of S/E from an '08 S/E Ultra. In all honestly I wish they were a little louder.
