I love the FI on my EG, first bike I've owned with it. Would be hard to go back. PowerCommanders are a great thing!

I've had both, and still have both. 2 are FI & 2 are not. The 2 that are, I ride mostly on the long hauls, the 2 that aren't are "bar hoppers". I traveled many miles on a carb 97 Road King before the FI bikes. I've never had any trouble out of either. As far as mass opinion, I'm a dealer, and get more buyers on FI, than carb bikes. Could all be a mental thing. 6 in one hill, half a dozen in the other.

EFI is the way to go. Once you get by some initial tuning bugs. Do you guys with carbs also want to go back to kick starters? lol Most of the problems are because of EPA and in-experienced tuners.

It's kinda funny when you hear some bikes starting and kicking back, the ones that usually are kicking back and have starter problems are usually carb'd bikes. Injectors have helped alot on start ups.

My only carb is on my snowblower, and, I understand they will be FI soon. Carbs were originally designed in the early 1900's - did a good job for many years. With the advent of computers and epa regs, carbs will go by way of the dodo bird shortly. FI is truly the way to go - in fact, I can't think of too many good reasons not to go FI.

I can only think of 2 reasons not to go injected.
1. Cost more.
2. Absolutly no access to tuner equipment and you do all your own mods. Anyone [almost] can tune a carb.

I have seen a lot of success with both set-ups - I think it is a personal choice - I like the FI because you can pretty much start it up and ride but if and when I become better with the wrenches I can sure see the benefits of a carb set-up - Let us know what you go with
