HOG Roadside Assistance worked great for me!
I had a massive rear tire flat on I-80 between SF and Sacramento. The tow showed up in less than an hour and took me to the Sacramento HD dealer. No charge. I pay the extra $25/year for the upgraded "unlimited" service. The tow driver told me it would have been a $450 tow without the insurance. For me, it worked great.

Screw HOG. AAA RV Plus and a cell phone.

+1 on AAA RV PLUS, knock on wood, never used AAA for my bike yet, but when I have used it for my cars I got top notch service, response and follow up!

Yeah but $126 annually for the RV Plus? (At least here in AZ) Even with the full coverage HOG program it's about $50 cheaper. (I haven't had a chance to compare the two just yet though). Actually my HOG is up for renewal, I haven't decided if I want to renew myself just yet.

What will HOG do for your cars? Or your family's cars. Or any vehicle you're riding in.

I've heard several complaints about them also that is why I didn't renew.
Same here. I've readtoo many complaints about HOG's roadside assistance program. As soon as my HOG membership expires, I'm moving to AAA.

ORIGINAL: Fastlane I would like to know how many members renew each year. Let's just say 100,000 at $45 each which comes to $4,500,000. They probably don't have enough money left over after paying those experts that put out their magazines to tell us where and how to ride. Like they say go ride and if you need a tow we are here for you, BS. All those pictures and stories about wide open roads, seems like it's all about money and no service.
There are 1.1 million current paid up HOG members. That is $45 million $$$$. I have used HOG towing assistance three times over the years with great success. Longest wait was 4 hours once in the middle of nowhere UTAH. Have several buddies who have used it also. Have not heard any complaints from them either.

that isnt 100% accurate.....im a life member of HOG since 1995 and i havent paid any fees to themsince then.

Me Too. Cost me an additional $8 bucks a year with Progressive. It's called Roadside Assistance.
Last week I called 'em they picked up the wife's bike on flatbed within the hour.

Good point, I thought it was only for the recreational vehicle side of things.

I have used HOGs Roadside Assistance in Alaska, British Columbia, Montana, and South Dakota.

No muss, no fuss, no extra charge (have the deluxe package).

Met someone last year on his "dream trip" to Alaska who complained about his buddy breaking down and getting racked with a $700 tow bill over in Canada.

I had to remind him that for $20 bucks it would have been free.
