i am about 6'2 and just had the wild one 10 inch mini apes put on my bike. They are way more comfortable then stock. Sorry dont have a pic yet will try and post one tonight. You could easly go with a 12.5 or 14 inch without being to high. The only bad part of changing out bars is waiting up to three weeks for steel braided cables.

These are all good suggestions. I'd like to see the pics you guys have.
I'll probably just wait a few weeks for Myrtle and then talk to the Wild 1 guys there to get some ideas.

Wild one 513's on my 08 RG. Wished I had tried the 515's. I'm 5'8" and shrinking.

The 513's don't have enough pullback for me.

CN Your bars look awesome!

Seems to me I'll be deciding between the Wild 1 bagger bars vs the 8.5 - 10 apes.

I'm 6'1" and had the mini apes on my 01 RKC. Very comfortable. Didn't have to change out the cables.

CN -

Will stock length cables, wiringand brake lines work with the 513's? I see that you went with braided, but I'm not sure what length you're running. I'm looking to duplicate your exact setup on my '04 Road King Classic. The stock bars SUCK! I need much more rise and pullback, and the 513's look to me as though they will give me both. Just not sure about the cables.

Thanks,
Doug

I measured the bars on my 08 RKC as I am looking for a change as well. I am 6'1' with a 35" sleeve and get a pain between my shoulder blades after an hour or so on the bike.

The measurements I came up with are: tip to tip 32", Width 14", rise 7", pullback 9".

This weekend I went to the local dealer and they let me hold up several bars next to mine and Ipurchased the "touring pullback bars" part number 55914-98.Measurements are Tip to tip 30.75", Width 15", rise 8" pullback 7.5" per the big book. The pullback looks longer on the actual bars but I have not measured them.

I believe there is enough wire and cable lenghth to avoid replacement of either. The new bars will have to be drilled, shortened by 1/2" on theright sideand notched for the throttle sensor but for $49, I am willing to give it a try. I have not put the bars on the bike yet, but plan to do so during the next rainy weekend. I will post pictures when completed.
