Did your Sony hook up directly to the wiring harness? Is it water resistant? I'm looking at buying a new unit. What was the cost?

Spence -

I've spent the last couple of weeks, off and on, reading through as many post on this subject as possible. I have an 07 Ultra with stock Harley stereo and am contemplating an amp as well.

As I see it, there are four (4) major options. HogTunes, Hawg Wired, Biketronics and Harley makes an AMP but I don't think that will work for you. It seems that a lot more have gone with HogTunes and most seem happy with their choice. Those that go with Hawg Wired really like the solution but it is much more $$$ than the other solutions. Biketronics - did not find a lot that went with this solution but did not hear any complaints from those that went with Biketronics.

There's lots of options in watts and channels (2 or 4). If cash was no object, I would lean towards the 4 channel Hawg Wired. Two channel - it sounds like HogTunes or Hawg Wired both offer good solutions.

Best of luck. Let us know which you pick.

PIMAXX.......The Sony was bought thru Biketronics along with the adapter to work with the hand controls...very nice setup....much better sound that the stock unit......I paid around 500.00 but that included speakers and a speaker cone......give Mike a call....a great guy to deal with. I'll probably go with they're Amp too, just figured I'd get some opinions before I do......

Did you mount this amp on top of the radio? Installation easy?

I got a Large sheet of Velcro and attached it to the inside next to the Glove box and attached the Radio, the hardest thing was putting the fairing back together
