I have Head-Quarters HQ-0034 cams in my otherwise stock '04 EG w/ Rinehart TD's and SE a/c. I highly recommend them as a bolt-in cam. Similar, but not identical, specs to S&S 510, Andrews 26, Woods 6. You can use the Big Boyz cam comparator to compare three cams' specs at a time--might be useful:

The gear cams deliver perfect timing, less drag, thus more horsepower 3-5hp. In any event get new bearings also. The labor quote is absolutely ridiculous. I would take your bike to an independent shop that specializes in twin cams. This change out is not rocket science. I've seen several guys do this in under an hour easy. Independent shops will often also give you discounts on parts from drag and custom chrome. good luck.

If ya don't have a tuner, don't forget the cost of a mapping download from a dealer.

I agree. Its not that hard, but you have to pull the pipes, r/h floorboard. Definitely under two, though.

Don't want somebody doing mine in a hour. Don't think it can be done. All the indys I talked quoted 5 hrs and $1200 range. If you're in southern Ok give PhilM in Wylie (Dallas) a shout. He did mine and did a great job. I ordered all parts from HQ, geardrive, cams, pushrods, install kit, tubes for $950.

I got the HQ-0034 gear drive. Dynoed before and after on same dyno. Cams, and no other change, 9.1 HP and 9.3 TQ. this is on a TC88.

It took me 5 hours.
I'm not the fastest mechanic, but I like
to work accurate (check and check again)
I also had toremove tank and rocker covers
because I kept stock pushrods.
