Default Wind Buffeting to Back of Head

I have been reading this Forum for several months. It is a great forum,I enjoy reading it, and have learned a few things. I purchased my first Harley,FLHTC,and picked it up on April 15. I tried researching theproblem but could not find an answer. My problem is when I am going down the highway it feels like the wind is hitting the back of my head. I am 6'6" tall.Has anyone else have this problem? Any potential solutions?

Thanks!

Have you installed the front fork baffle. It will reduce a lot of buffeting.

Baffle

I have not tried the fork baffle. I was thinking about a taller windshield or the clearview with the curve, but thought I would see what everyone would recommend. Thanks for the suggestion.

I love the bike, and if I could reduce the slaps to the back of my head that would be abonus.

It's ok to ride the bike in the forward gears. Reverse isn't always the best.

It even happens when I use the forward gears 4, 5, and 6.

I am 6'4" and ride an SG.

I put the fork baffle in and that made a huge differece....also have a 8" clearview recurve on the way

Littlejohn,
I've only lived in Wisconsin a couple years, but you guys get some serious winds up here. I found you need to go faster than your tail wind. Up here between Winnebago and the big water, that could exceed 60 mph ....suppose you could experiment with a back fairing.

I'm 6'1" and have a SG with 9.5 clearview with recurve and fork baffle. I wear my ball cap backwards (the bill in the back) when
I ride and I don't have any buffeting even at 85mph. Haven't had my hat blow off yet. I can see over the windshield by at least 5
inches.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a fork baffle may do the trick.
