Default Friction Sound from Front Wheel

I notice that when I coast at slow speed, such as in slow traffic there is a constant friction sound that comes with the rotation of the front wheel. I brought this up to the service rep and he told me that it is normal to have this sound with each revolution of the wheel. Sounds like the pad touches the disk at a certain spot. I find this a bit annoying but am not sure if this is an issue that should be addressed or normal. Appreciate any input. Thanks.

Had it on my 06 RKC and on my current ride 08 EGC. If your dealer confirmed everything is installed properly and no damage, I wouldn't worry about it. When it is time to replace pads, get some better quality.

That is how disc brakes work. There is no return spring on the brake pads so they constantly rub on the rotors. Just the way it is.

Yup, for the most part normal. When i hear it excessively, i make sure the rotors are not warped though....Simple test with dial indicator...

Does the sound go away when you lightly apply the front brakes?

On my 07 Rg, the front brake is silent. Yes, a slight amount of drag is normal in disk brakes. However, it is possible that your rotor could be warped or untrue for some reason causing drag in just one spot on your rotor. This sound would come and go as the wheel rotates.

I imagine that everything is stock and original at this point since it's an 07. So it can't be blamed on the pad material.

One thing you might do is jack up your bike and turn the wheel by hand. That can tell you a lot.
