the loudest,rudest(best for me) i have heard were thundercones on stock headerpipes.

The very best touring bike exhaust setup for mid-range power is the combination of stock header pipes and the Screamin' Eagle touring mufflers fitted with SuperTrapp "Mikuni" baffles. I believe that SuperTrapp now refers to these baffles as performance baffles. They are available (through most any dealer) from TEC Distributing in Danversport, MA.
