Installed polyurethane riser bushings now I feel a grinding
I finally put some polyurethane riser bushings on the Road Queen yesterday. Now I have what feels like a grinding when I corner, it scared the crap out of me the first couple of times it happened, left is worse then the right but it's there unless I'm going straight. Anyone have an idea as to what this could be ( I suspect the brakes are rubbing) before I go and take the front end apart and brake things that aren't broke yet in order to "fix" it.

Let me see if I can clarify what I'm saying. The poly bushing were put in to tighten up the slop I had with my apes and they did that very well. Now that the bars are tight I can feel the road thru the bars, I also can feel a grinding/rubbing when I corner. Does that make more sense to you?

My point was that the bushing swap didn't cause whatever it is that is giving you that feeling. Something may be wrong or it may not, I don't know. So are you just feeling "grinding" but not hearing it?
I have poly bushings. You do feel more in your hands with them.

I know where you are coming from. Even though many things could be causing it
this is just my experience. I too changed bushing and felt the "grind" when turning.
What I felt was my left rotor was warped just a little and the mushy old bushing
hid this and the new bushing picked it up. Not serious in fact I have not even
changed the rotor yet, but will. going to go with Harleys floating rotor when
tax return come's in. Not saying your problem just one thing to look at.

I'd say you were right st john, when I put the bike up on the jack and rolled the tire this morning the brakes appear to rub on the "high spots" and the left rotor appears to have more of 'em then the right. I think I'll fix it over the winter.

Hate to hijack your thread but what are you referring with poly bushings? Are you talking about replacing the handlebar bushings? If so where can I get these bushings. Thanks
