Laminar Lip????
anyone know much about these?
http://www.laminarlip.com/rdglide.php
I mean... they LOOK dorky as hell..... but if that means I can ride at speed, AND see without chronic bobble head....
gotta be better than nothing.... although I did remove the shield altogether on the RG... and it was better than the stock glass

I don't have one on my Glide but I did put one on my KLR awhile back. It works really well at deflecting air. Before I put one on I tried riding with my MX helmet and my head felt like it was going to get ripped off. With the laminar lip I can run highway speeds wearing the MX helmet with no problems at all.

I don't have one on my RG but I have one on my XL1200S. I have a small, detachable sport fairing on the bike. It does help quite a bit with the head buffeting. And I agree, it does look a little dorky. It is held on to the original windshield by4 smallvelcro type tabs. The laminar lip can be removed, leaving those 4 tabs on the original windshield (if you want to reattach it). All in all, I would do it again. For around town, I just remove the sport fairing and put on a regular windshield or leave it bare.

I see the have grade 2, returned stuff for 7 bucks a foot. I wonder if just some small automotive trim would have a similar effect??? Anyone tried this stuff?? I have seen people with chrome trim on there edge, did you notice any difference doing this? I may pick some up and just try it while I ride Sat.

I know the Laminar lip works on other bikes.... and that "stealth edging" looks pretty trick.....glad I asked.... Klockwerks is a pretty trick deal... but you hear such differeing results...yeah i know it's a MOTORCYCLE and wind is a part of riding.but I've riden for 30 years without ANY windshield, and I took the shield off the RG just to check it out.... bike felt better to me... with a steady pressure all over.
At 70MPH I begin to see double from the turbulance...which a)sucks and b) ain't safe
Love the RG.... just would like to see where I'm going
guess I'll bite the bullet and get the Laminar lip... (i-bikes has them for $71.25) I'll report back.... if anyone goes for the SAENG (on a RG) please report as well....
thanks guys
