RE: Cost of 1000 mile checkup ?
you can do it on your own, it is illeagal for them to stop your warranty unless you do not do what the manufaturer requires.... you will save a bunch of money doing your own, it will take a little over an hour , the dealer will charge you 400.00, you can do your own for a little over 120.00 including filter and all 3 oils..... save the money buy the manual for 60.00 for the bike......

I would let the dealer do the 1000 mile service. They will do the service and address any complaints or adjustments that you have. In IMOP this is the important one. After that, do em yourself if you feel comfortable doing them. If you are going to do engine mods, your warranty is trash anyway so it don't matter who does the service as long as it's done correctly.

mine was free with the purchase of the bike. I also had them adjust my left front turn signal. I believe the first one should be done at dealership, they go through all the linkages, connectors, etc..to make sure they have not loosened up. My dealer found my clutch needed adjusting and took care of that. at 5000 i will do it myself, bought the manual and know how.
