can I tint my windshield

RE: can I tint my windshield
I'm not sure if this will work on cycle windshields or not because I have never tried it but....when I built R/C airplanes, I used to tint the clear windshields by soaking them RIT dye. The longer they soaked, the darker they got. Again, I have no idea if this will even work with these windshields because they are a LOT thicker than stuff we used for the planes...that stuff was paper thin and it's not even the same material. Might be something to try if you have an old windshield laying around and don't care if something doesn't go right. If it does work, the colors would be endless...

Have no idea if it's any good or if it will even work on plexiglas.
Like others have said tinted replacement shields are so inexpensive it might be easier to just buy one.

RE: can I tint my windshield
If you buy a windshield that is the same material as the factory shield, then the answer is no. The factory windshield is made of polycarbonate, which window tint will not stick.
For safety reasons you should not buy a windshield that is made from anything but Polycarbonate. It is impact resistant and will not shard off if there is an impact from a rock. Some sellers on Ebay are selling acryllic windshields and you should not buy these! When a rock hits it, it will crack and possibly launch sharp shards back at you.
