Default Help with CB radio please

First off which side of the tour pack does the CB antenna go on?
I take it the antenna with the coil on it is the CB antenna and the plain one is for the FM........right?
When looking at the tour pack from behind I have the antenna with the coil on it on the right hand side... Is this right?

I tried to get someone on my CB but haven't had any luck. What am I doing wrong? I've tried changing the channels......the squelch but to no avail.
Is the CB only heard through a headset? I don't have one so I was thinking I could try to pick up some conversation over the speakers.

Taz,
Antennas are correct as you stated...Is CB cable one piece? not "spliced" "Pinched"? Do you hear anyone talking? (not sure if you said this) if cable is good and CB comes "ON" and if you hear others then Most like an Antenna mismatch. The best way to fix this is to stop in a local Two-Way radio shop (and have them check system using a "SWR" meter may need to tune Antenna or other issue with CB? Good Luck..........Marty.

First, place rocker switch on dash all the way to the rear so sound will come thru speakers.

Second, set the squelch. Press the left button while the CB function appears on the radio. Remove bars until you get noise then increase a couple bars.

Third, make sure you're on a channel that is being used by others. Ch 19 is the channel for truckers, there's always someone there. Without a headset or microphone you will only be able to listen.

Are you sure that there is another cb'er nearby. From what I have found, the range is only 2 to 3 mile. Try to find another bike and ask if they can hear you. Good luck
