Ok its after 7pm and you break down a 1000 miles from....
home. Besides being pissed
I called extended warranty number they say call HD dealer they will call them and then the process will start where they will pay for car rental and motel and food while dealer takes 2 or 3 days to repair the bike.
My question is who do you call if this was to happen after the dealer is closed?
Do you call a wrecker and have them hold it until dealer opens and then have dealer tow it again? Can't leave it on the highway until they open.
Does hd pick up both tow charges or do I eat one?
There closed now so I thought I would throw this out there and see if this has happened to you.

Make sure you have towing on your insurance before leaving on trip. Its only about 25.00 a year and you can count on it. I have read bad things with H.O.G. towing! Also you dont need permission to have it towed after hours. Just my .02. Hope it never happens to you or I!

Can't say I've ever had that problem, but it sounds like a little common sense would be called for. I have RV Roadhelp for towing. They'll tow anything I'm driving, & they're very reasonable about where they'll tow it. So, if it was after hours for the dealer I'd probably have 'em take me to the hotel/motel nearest the dealer. Once me & the bike are safely off the road get a good meal & a good nights sleep & worry about repairs in the morning.

#1 make sure you have towing on your policy.. Rental car is good too..!
#2 Very important.. Make sure the tower comes with a "rollback"..
Some of those towing companys still use the old style trucks which can damage a bike..!!
Still I would be watchingt like a hawk.. It doesn't take but a small mistake in the towing dept. to damage your bike..!!
I don't think theres a tower yet that is designed for a motorcycle.
